We have long associated festivities and merrymaking with food and drink. Christmas is one of the major feasts that is made so special by the food we prepare and serve to our loved ones.Traditions through the ages as well as from country to country differ greatly. Yet a Roast turkey, plum pudding, Yule log and mince pies seem to be universally accepted as Christmas staples.  What we choose to put on our table depends on a mix of tradition and our own personal tastes. Most of the food we consider traditional is also symbolic.
