The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux sweeps awards at Malta
Kulinarja and wins Chef of The Year 2009.

The prestigious Malta Kulinarja ‘Chef of the Year’ 2009 award at the Malta International Cookery and Culinary Arts Championships organized by the Malta Chef’s Society has been won by Kevin Bonello, Executive Chef at The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux.

This achievement highlights The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux as the leading culinary hotel in the Malta hospitality market and provides a clear indication of the quality of cuisine that guests can expect at this unique palazzo in Mdina.   In fact, this award has the hotel’s stamp of authority placed firmly upon it. The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux’s Adrian Bonello won the Chef of the Year title in 2007.

Chef of the Year 2009 was not the only award to be won by The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux at the Malta Kulinarja this year. The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux won an impressive 15 gold medals and 8 silver medals during the championship. The Chef's Team Challenge Award is another first for the hotel in this category. In fact, this award attracted no less than 3 gold medals as well as a gold for the Best in Class category.  Other gold medals won by The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux this year include the Cold Display Award and the Master Chef Grand Prix Award won for the 5th time by  3 talented chefs of The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux team.
